So aside from being swamped and not having enough time to post to this blog as much as I would like, I have been following an interesting daily quote series over at Random Nuclear Strikes, excerpts from The Reagan Diaries. Even though Reagan was part of my Chain of Command in the ’80s I was so far removed that I had no appreciation for his communication skills, and his command of a tool set that is being lost in this age of electronics and information. Reagan’s use of personal, handwritten letters, and appeals to other world leaders is fascinating. It reminds me of the tools and mindset that my grandfather exposed me to, and unfortunately, I never embraced. Perhaps now is the time.
If you have time go read this book. I am planning on it, some time, when I can find a few minutes here, and there.
