Growing up, I was seriously into model rockets for a while. The Estes kits were perfect. The only problem was the motors were controlled by the fire department. You had to go get a launch permit and then show the permit when buying the propellant. That really takes the wind out of your sales when you are 10.
The times appear to have changed a bit. That little 14″ tall Xray rocket that I spent so much time on building, and getting the chute packed just right. Has given way to this.
