Over at a blog called Misfires and Light Strikes is a post about shooting in IDPA. It’s and interesting post but unless you are interested in practical shooting sports, it may not be interesting to you.
Since I found it interesting, I worked my way through it and pulled out an interesting nugget or two. Then I got to the last paragraph, and it wrapped up everything that we do as a community of gun owners and operators in a concise fragment of a sentence.
Overall, though, I liked shooting IDPA, and I’ll do it again. l shoot practical pistol not because I want to become Todd Jarrett in my middle age, but because I want to think and react quickly and clearly on the worst day of my life.
That, I think, says it all, and it applies to everything not just shooting.
