Marketing ingenuity. Notice the way that the boards are crafted in this to channel the ball appropriately to generate the right tone. Then notice how the different widths result in the different durations for each note. Then factor in that they had to build this out with a constant slope across a forest floor (assuming that there was no CGI here).
