Marines are Everywhere

When I first started getting interested in history I gravitated toward the stories of World War II.  Watching Victory at Sea, The World at War, and so on.  As I grew into my teens and started to really have to learn history I found a natural affinity and gravitation towards WWII again.

The first time that I had to do a serious research paper I focused on the Battle of Midway, and I was introduced to the writings of Samuel Elliot Morrison.  The Battle of Midway hinged and turned on some many individual stories it is an incredible series of events.  One of those events included the activities of MAG22.  Yes, even in one of the most documented naval battles of WWII, the Marines were there distinguishing themselves.  Marines magazine has a nice piece up about the contribution of MOH winner Richard Fleming.
