With the news out of Fallon yesterday, I am somewhat at a loss for words. As part of the military community, you understand that there will be losses. Friends that for whatever reason abruptly depart from our lives.
Yesterday, saw a civilian operated F-21 that was supporting operations at the (prestigious) Naval Fighter Weapons school crash. The aircraft was piloted by an individual that achieved many of the goals that I had missed achieving in my life. It was very easy for me to point at his career and say, “One decision here, and another there that could easily be me”. Yet, Lex had found a second career that he loved. The world has lost one of those very special people, and we are diminished as a result.
My condolences go out to the family. Lex, we all will miss your voice, and your thoughtful insights.
